Somatic Therapies

Health Triangle’s leading-edge approach to complex trauma treatment enables it to methodically combine the psychological and somatic/body factors in its overall service offerings to assist its clients in their holistic recovery.

What Is Somatic Therapy

Somatic therapies are complementary to psychological therapies and in many cases, they are essential for re-establishing a Healthy Regulatory System for the body and ultimately the mind of clients suffering from Complex traumas.

Most physical and mental disorders which are 95% of all chronic illnesses have somatic roots in our bodies. This is when our autonomic system of sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems become dysregulated and out of balance.

Somatic therapy is a new modality of understanding how our bodies express our stressful mental experiences. Our daily traumas become stored in our bodies and by relieving body-stored pain and stagnation, we can actively facilitate our overall trauma recovery.

Somatic therapies often work best in combination with our psychological therapies. We offer a variety of Somatic therapies such as:

Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR): A psychotherapy treatment that is designed to alleviate the distress associated with traumatic memories.

Body-Mind Coherence Technique (BMCT) developed by Health Triangle
A new technique for balancing the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system and restoring health to the body.

Breathing & Mindfulness Techniques and Exercises: Relaxing the body and restoring health and coherence between body and mind.
