Functional Assessment

Our Mental Health Occupational Therapy (OT) services provide comprehensive functional assessments that focus on how mental health conditions impact day-to-day living. These assessments explore a person’s ability to manage self-care, household responsibilities, community participation, relationships, and work or study roles.

Through a holistic and person-centred approach, our OTs identify the strengths and challenges in functional capacity, considering the influence of psychological, social, and environmental factors. The goal is to understand not only what a person is finding difficult, but also the supports, strategies, and adjustments that can enhance independence, safety, and quality of life.

Our functional assessments are often used to inform support planning, including recommendations for NDIS funding, daily living supports, assistive technology, and community access. Each assessment results in a detailed, evidence-based report that provides clear insights into the individual’s needs and practical pathways for improved participation and wellbeing.
